Once the surgery is completed, you will need to adhere to certain guidelines for a quick and complete recovery:

What to expect:

• Do not try to breathe through the nose

• It is important to take medications as prescribed by the doctor 

• You may get out of bed to go to the bathroom with assistance, but not unaided

• A light pack will be placed in the nostrils, which will be removed after 24 hours 

• Cold gauze pads placed over the eyes will help to reduce any swelling that may occur

• Moderate bleeding from the nose is normal, the gauze dressing will collect the blood

• The outside of the nostrils may be cleansed with cotton bud applicators saturated with either water or vaseline
